Kebun means ‘orchard’ or ‘garden’ in Bahasa Indonesia. Pathways and steps lead
you all around Kebun, through gardens, past ponds, fountains, paddy fields and
even a natural spring. Everywhere there are places to sit and chat or just
relax and listen to the sound of running water, the wind in the trees and,
nearly every day, someone playing the bamboo gamelan.Individually
designed rooms filled with a collection of Indonesian antiques are spaced
through the property, making this a very special boutique place to stay.
Kebun is filled with frangipani, heliconia, coconut palms, coffee, clove,
cocoa, durian and mangosteen trees, and it attracts butterflies and
birds. Visitors have a rare opportunity to make the most of being in Bali,
walking through shade and peace in a beautiful natural environment.
It lies on the slopes of Mount Batukaru in central Bali, 500m above sea level,
with a view down to the sea and across the west coast of Bali to Kuta and
beyond to Uluwatu in the far south of the island.
Cafe
The swimming pool is set in a garden down by the paddy fields, looking
out onto neighboring fields and the horizon. It is large enough for laps, and
has a children’s pool next to it. Surrounded by sun loungers and grouped seats,
this area is a place to spend an entire day, and drinks and food can be served
poolside.
The Garden Terrace next to the pool and paddy fields has open seating, a
hammock, and a Balai for relaxing and making music, overlooking the paddies.
Kebun is perfect for pool and garden parties, and for weddings, with a romantic
tropical garden backdrop.
